Wema Bank Staff Multipurpose Cooperative Society Elects New Executives 

…Kayode Osumah was re-elected as President based on his performances

On Saturday, August 10, at the Wema Bank Staff Multipurpose Cooperative Society Annual General Meeting, which was held in Lagos, elected a new Executive Management Committee Team to lead the Society for another two (2) years.

The newly elected Executive members are: 

1. Kayode Osumah – President (reelected)

2. ⁠Chigozie Ekenwa – VP 1

3. ⁠Abosede Ajakaiye – VP 2

4. ⁠Olusolamipe Aina – Gen Secretary 

5. ⁠Ismaila Sowunmi – Treasurer

6. ⁠Vincent Akodu – Fin Sec

7. ⁠Morakinyo Soluade – AGS

8. ⁠Oluwasheye Akintola – Ex Officio

Mrs. Ayo Abiodun who represented the Director of Cooperatives, Lagos commended the outgone EXCO for the impressive results and charged the new EXCO to consolidate on these and continue to work in harmony to deliver exceptional performances.

The Area Officer, Mr. Olakunle Adedeko encouraged the Management team to ensure sustained improvements of members’ Return On Investment (RoI). 

The Executive Director (Retail And Digital Bank) Mr. Tunde Mabawonku charged the Executive Management to focus on engagements that will attract the GenZs, particularly with the effective use of digital marketing platforms like Social Media.

The Chairman of the Supervisory Committee, Mr. Wole Ajimisinmi, an Executive Director in the Bank, commended the EXCO and charged them to ensure that members welfare capital are not eroded due to the prevailing high inflation rate and to also ensure value is created while conserving members resources.

In the same vein, a special presentation was delivered (earlier) by Mr. Femi Akinfolarin on survival strategies in an inflationary economy.

The President, Mr. Kay Osumah thanked the Members for the reposed confidence and assured them of improved productivity and returns to members of the Coop. He also thanked the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Mrs. Florence Kayode for a free and fair election. In addition, he expressed appreciation to the Management of the Bank for providing members with the platform to engage in this economic development vehicle. He further appreciated the Director of Coop, Lagos State, and the Area Officer for their usual support.
