Wema Bank Collaborates with Lagos State to to Address Cooperative Societies Challenge

Wema Bank is partnering with the Lagos State government to tackle issues facing cooperative societies in the state, such as limited loan access, manual recordkeeping, ineffective communication, complex processes, fund security concerns, and the need for real-time reporting for better decision-making.

Ayodele Olojede, Wema Bank’s divisional head of retail and SME, says the financial institution is leveraging its well-established platform – CoopHub to drive this empowerment.

CoopHub, launched by Wema Bank, empowers cooperative societies with resources, opportunities, and support for seamless operations, maximum productivity, and efficient member service.

At Wema Bank, we are dedicated to supporting and empowering cooperatives through our CoopHub solution. We’re excited that more cooperatives are joining us to enhance their operations and seize growth opportunities. she noted.

The banker stressed the importance of intentional, impactful, and sustainable efforts in advancing the cooperative industry. Achieving a sustainable and ideal future for cooperative societies entails adapting to the digital world and promoting youth inclusivity.

She announced that, in support of International Day of Cooperatives 2024, the bank is offering free healthcare plans to all women attending the event through their women-focused program, SARA by Wema.

The theme for this year’s International Day of Cooperatives was “Cooperatives: Building a Better Future for All.” They have a lot of Cooperative societies participated in this years event.
