This is a stunning Art Glass Paperweight Egg, in a Millefiori Satin Finish, made in the famous glassmaking region of Murano Venice Italy. The egg stands almost 3 inches tall and 2 inches wide.
Millefiore is an Italian term that means a thousand flowers and these thousand flowers are made from multicolor glass canes that are melted and fused, and then joined in a highly skilled artisan glassmaking process that is particularly difficult to perfect. Murano is well known for its millefiori pieces, also sometimes called "tutti frutti".
In excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks or other blemishes.
