Vintage Large 16" Beehive Woven Rattan Sewing Basket with Top Handle, Yarn Split
This charming vintage sewing basket features a unique beehive shape and is expertly woven from durable rattan. These style baskets were typically used to hold sewing supplies or yarn.
It measures 16" with the handle, 10.5" tall excluding the handle, 12" in diameter at the base with a 9.5" diameter opening. I estimate this piece to date from the 1970s-80s era.
The center bands have a pinkish tone.
The condition is as shown in the photographs. Some of the wrap weaving on the handle is a little loose - but the handle is still sturdy and well attached. A few random broken weaves, but nothing that significant in my opinion. A few pink spots on the inside that are from the dyed bands. It doesn't sit quite level - probably an easy fix with a book or other heavy objects inside.
