This a rare transparent globe called "The Bowl of Night" manufactured by Farquhar Transparent Globes for only a few years, from 1980 to 1986. This splendid device, identifies the celestial sky for any month and time of the year if located in the northern hemisphere. The design was originally created by H.A. Rey the creator of Curious Georgia in 1950 but was never manufactured until 1980 by Farquhar. Indeed a rare and museum worthy piece. If you enjoy to navigate our celestial skies and enjoy to own the rarely obtainable, then this artifact is for you. The first piece is clear with a city skyline and times on it. This piece and the following are each almost 14" wide and around 5 1/2" deep. The second piece is the blue part with constellations and months on it. As you would expect there are/may be some scratches, scuffs, marks, imperfections, wear, chips, etc from use, storage, age, etc, which do not affect the beauty of the piece nor affect the usefullness. See pics for condition.
