Gorgeous Chemex coffee maker with hourglass shaped glass and wood collar with original leather closure (no original bead). The Hard to find Green Stamp is worn but still intact.
Chemex green stamp is on bottom and still visible/readable in photos. The patent number, 2,411,340, corresponds to the years 1941-1946
From the Internet: The Chemex coffee maker was stamped with a green mark, featuring the text "CHEMEX® U.S. PATENT 2,411,340 MADE IN U.S.A. FROM PYREX® BRAND GLASS," during a period from the early 1940s to the late 1950s. This green stamp was used on models made with Pyrex borosilicate glass, a product of Corning Glass Works (now Corning, Inc.).
Overall in great condition. There are some scuffs and evidence of use, the wood has some signs of loving wear. No chips or cracks. See photos. I did not take wood collar off to wash it. Will let Buyer handle that.
