Up for auction is a vintage 1929 associate pinback button from the National Council of Congregational Churches, held in Detroit, Michigan from May 28–June 4, 1929. The button has a bold red and cream design with the word ASSOCIATE prominently across the center. It measures approx. 1" in diameter.

This historic piece is nearly 100 years old and represents a rare collectible from a major religious gathering in pre-Depression America.

The National Council of Congregational Churches was part of the movement that eventually helped form the United Church of Christ in the 1950s. The 1929 Detroit council took place just months before the stock market crash that launched the Great Depression, making it a significant year in American history.
