The Last Supplement to the Whole Earth Catalog

When I was a kid, I subscribed to National Geographic's World magazine, and Ranger Rick. From those, I learned about things like tide pools, which always stuck in my mind as one of the greatest things ever. I always wanted to see a tide pool, but in trips to the ocean in Maone, Florida, Texas, Mexico, and Californua, I never did.

There was also, once, a story in Ranger Rick about a family who went on vacation and ce back to a lawn overgrown with grass, weeds, flowers, etc. They left it that way and had all kinds of wildlife in it. I always wanted to try that too, and then I did from 2013 to 2019, when financial stress and depression combined to make me entirely unable to do anything about our yard.
