Henn Pottery Country Red Heart spongeware mugs. This distinctive style of hand-thrown and hand-decorated pottery was a specialty of the Gerald E. Henn Workshops, a family-owned business in Roseville, Ohio, which closed in early 2023 after 60+ years.
The mugs feature a cream-colored base with red spongeware speckling and a solid red heart design. The spongeware technique involves applying paint with a sponge to create a unique, rustic pattern. The inside of mugs have crazing.
Henn Pottery was known for its high-quality, handcrafted ceramic pieces. The items are typically very heavy, oven-proof, microwave-safe, and dishwasher-safe. Excellent condition.
