Vintage, original Lobby Card (LC) for 1944 Paramount Pictures war drama “Hour Before the Dawn” starring Veronica Lake & Franchot Tone based on 1942 W. Somerset Maugham.
An unrestored & well maintained Title Lobby Card (LC) (11”x14”) in fine to very fine condition from the original theatrical release of the 1944 film “Hour Before the Dawn”. The LC features a key scene between its 2 stars. It has very slight staining & smudging in blank border & a small part of yellow area. Otherwise this LC is in absolutely terrific condition with excellent color & design. The image of Veronica Lake really captures her beauty & charisma. It displays extremely well. Please see images.
Veronica Lake was a major Hollywood movie star of the 1940s. Her eyes, "calm & clear like a blue lake", were the inspiration for her the last name she adopted early in her career. She also became a popular pin-up girl for WW II soldiers & enthusiastically participated in war bond campaigns.
