Platinum Trim and Mid-Century Japanese craftsmanship with a glossy finish. Produced between 1970 and 1976.
Add a touch of vintage grace to your table with this classic "Elegant Lady" set. Made exclusively for International Silver Co. in Japan, this fine china set features a delicate blue rose pattern, accented by a shimmering platinum rim.
The combination of delicate blue florals with a platinum (silver-tone) rim was the height of fashion for wedding registries in the late 60s and early 70s. Earlier sets (1950s) often used gold trim, while the transition to platinum trim became the standard for "modern" formal sets in the 70s.
Although firmly late MCM, several elements give an art deco nod, such as the "modern" platinum silver and the footed base that gives the set a more architectural grand appearance.
Pre-owned in pristine condition with no chips or cracks or crazing.
