Francis Bacon, 1st Viscount St Alban, 1st Lord Verulam, PC (1561 – 1626) was an English philosopher and statesman who served as Attorney General and Lord Chancellor of England under King James I. Bacon argued the importance of natural philosophy, guided by scientific method, and his works both sparked and remained influential throughout the Scientific Revolution.

This book contains 58 of his essays and/or correspondences on a wide variety of subjects. Text is in 17th century English using modern spellings. Includes a glossary.

Interior is tight, clean and unmarked. Hardcover has red decorated boards, tan cloth spine with gold lettering, but no DJ.
