This is a remarkable find for collectors of 19th-century American silver. This 7-inch sterling silver spoon was crafted by the prestigious New York City firm Wood & Hughes in their celebrated Daisy pattern (circa 1880).
A classic example of the Aesthetic Movement, the handle features a beautifully detailed, stylized floral design and a graceful silhouette. Because Wood & Hughes ceased operations in 1899, pieces in this pattern are increasingly rare and highly sought after by silver enthusiasts.
