Beautiful antique-style ornate gold gesso-on-wood frame, richly decorated with Baroque/Rococo scrolling, floral motifs, and sculpted corner appliqués. The frame includes its original linen liner and original backing paper with the 1937 museum label.
The artwork is a 1937 National Committee for Art Appreciation reproduction of The Infanta Margarita Teresa in Red by Diego Velasquez, courtesy of the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna. These prints were part of an educational art series issued nationwide in the 1930s.
The frame is heavy, well-made, and displays a stunning aged patina. Perfect for French, Baroque, Rococo, Hollywood Regency, and European décor.
