The prism surfaces of this lovely cut crystal bowl pull and scatter sunlight into glitter and rainbows. The piece is quite heavy but the elegant curve of the side, rising up to the rim, lifts the piece and visually balances out the weight of the glass. The finely cut Hopstar Brunswick stars, pinwheel and fan that adore the sides and base gives the decoration a feeling of lace, a web of light drawn over the surface. The way light runs up and down the cuts gives the design a feeling of energy and movement. The rim is cut into a sawtooth profile that beautifully compliments the intricate body of the bowl. Surprisingly, this vintage piece has no chip on the sawtooth edges, no cracks, no flea bites or brakes on it. Just normal for its year's wear. Table contact wear marks.
