President Ayeola Eulogized the Lagos State Department of Cooperatives

…Praised their Effectiveness and Efficiency in doing their Regulatory and Supervisory Duties

…Extolled the Government for Deploying Adequate Staff to Monitor Cooperative Activities in the state.

President of the Cooperative Federation of Nigeria (CFN) High Chief, Tajudeen Oriyomi Ayeola spoke highly and praised the effective and efficient regulatory duties and supervisory roles performed by the Department of Cooperative Services in Lagos State by extension, extolled the Government for deploying adequate staff, to monitor the activities of Cooperatives, which has made it difficult for any sharp practices in their operations within the state, during his visit to the Governor of Plateau State as part of activities marking the 2023 International Cooperative day events in Nigeria.

In his words, “In the Department of Cooperatives in Lagos State, we have about, then precisely two hundred and fifty-seven members of staff, working for that Department because of that, the cooperative system in Lagos is well monitored for anybody to bring in sharp practices it will be extremely difficult,”

He made this statement in reference to back up his plea to the governor of Plateau State, where the Department of Cooperative Services in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry were short-staffed and lagging behind in their regulatory and supervisory responsibilities and duties.

He also pleaded that most of the economic and social programmes of the government should be rooted through the cooperative platform in the state in order to have more impact on the people of the state.

In a related manner, a courtesy call was made on Thursday 6th July, that’s the day before going to the governor on Friday 7th July by the CFN President in the company of the PLASCOFED Board members to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, and Industry with some Directors and Management Staff of the ministry in attendance, this is to commemorate World Coop Day 2023 in Plateau State and exhort the PS to support the Department and the Movement to make an impact
