Ogungbangbe commended His Excellency Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke for his strategic decision to separate the Ministry of Cooperatives from that of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. He believes this move will optimize the efficiency of the agencies within the Ministry of Cooperatives and Empowerment in the state.

He shared that upon assuming office as commissioner, he found approximately 20,000 registered cooperative societies, but only about 5,000 actively function in the state and his ministry is already working out modalities to ensure seamless registration for societies using technology and trained Cooperative extension officers to create more awareness about the benefits of Cooperatives.

Expressing his delight, he highlighted the Governor’s support in rejuvenating the neglected Osun State Cooperative College in Ode-Omu. The Governor has instructed a complete renovation of the college, and soon, reconstruction work will commence at the Ode-Omu campus.

Also, encouraging micro, small, and medium-scale business owners, petty traders, and market women, he urged them to form themselves into Cooperatives and approach the Osun Micro Credit Agency for single-digit credit facilities, a part of Senator Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke’s initiative to facilitate business operations within the state.
