The Katsina State Government, UNDP, and WANEP have empowered women from 300 cooperative clusters in Kaita and Faskari Local Governments.

On Thursday, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary announced the “Peace Architectures for Peacebuilding and Prevention in Strengthening Community Livelihood in Katsina State” program.

He stated that the program has supplied crucial items to empower women economically and enhance their self-reliance. Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, launched the distribution at the Multi-Purpose Women Center, Filin Samji, in Katsina.

Governor Radda emphasized the program’s vital role in promoting women’s economic independence and sustainable development.

The Katsina Governor praised the timely support from UNDP and WANNEP. Commissioner for Women Affairs Zainab Musa Musawa listed the items provided, such as fertilizers, water pumps, rice processing, and destoning machines.

Mrs. Musawa explained that the ploughing machines and grinding machine will empower women to contribute significantly to their communities for sustainable development. Bello Lawal Yandaki, Chairman of ALGON, pledged close monitoring to ensure effective use of the items for their intended purpose.
