The Federal Cooperative College, Kaduna amongst other Cooperative Institutions in Nigeria has emerged as the Most Outstanding Cooperative Institution of the Year winning the Award for the Year 2023. –
This award annually goes to the most outstanding Institution of higher learning that offers Cooperative as a Course of Study either at the Cooperative Colleges (State or Federal) or Department of Cooperatives in any Universities and Polytechnics that ensures an enabling environment for all cooperative students to thrive better at learning the course and put practical knowledge to play. The winning Institution must have ensured at least a Cooperative Student Consumer Society, Cooperative Student Savings Club, and, or Student Cooperative Farms to be on the ground for the student’s cooperative knowledge bridge and practical training before graduation.
Also, the College Provost, Hajia Dr. Aisha Ismail Ishaq bags the prestigious Award for the Year 2023 as the Most Outstanding Provost of the Year, and emerged as one of the CRASoN National Patrons which were based on her meritorious selfless services rendered always and her exemplary leadership prowess, entrepreneurial spirit, Innovation, and Creativity brought to play as a Provost at increasing the fortune of her College to become one of the most enviable reference points for excellence in cooperative education, learning and development institution among other Cooperative Colleges and Institutions in Nigeria.
These Awards and Recognitions were given at an elaborate event during the CRASoN 5th National Cooperative Awards and the Patrons Investiture Ceremony & Dinner/Banquet held on Sunday 19th November at the prestigious NECA Event Center, Central Business District, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos State
CITATION OF HAJIA DR. AISHA ISMAIL ISHAQ – PROVOST FEDERAL COOPERATIVE COLLEGE, KADUNA
Hajia Dr. Aisha Ishaq was born in Zaria, Kaduna State of Nigeria on the 6th of September in the early Sixties. She has gone on to have a career as a renowned sociologist.
She is a mover, a shaker, an administrator per excellence, a philanthropist, and a partnership builder who is always focused on how she can provide opportunities to more children, young persons, and girls.
She started her post-secondary school at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, where she obtained her B.Sc (Hons) in sociology in 1985 and also furthered her studies with a Diploma in Cooperative Studies, Post Graduate Diploma in Education, Master in Criminal Justice, Fellow of Cooperative and Ph.D. in sociology between 2001 and 2022.
Her various field of work which includes Examination Officer, Vice Principal Academics, Vice Principal Admin, Senior Registrar of Cooperative Field Officer, and Lecturer at the Federal Cooperative College, Kaduna prepared her to be promoted to the post of Deputy Provost of the Federal Cooperative College Kaduna between 2014 to 2018. Upon her dedicated and meritorious performance, she was promoted to the substantive position of Provost of Federal Cooperative College Kaduna, a position she holds to date.
In appreciation of her diligence, she has served on various committees of the Federal Cooperative College which include but are not limited to the HOD of various departments, members of the Federal Cooperative College Academic and Management Board, and Chairperson Anti-Corruption and Transparency Monetary Units.
In a pursuit to attain a greater height, she has attended workshops and seminars which include but are not limited to; The Society of Education Administrators of Nigeria on Teachers as Role Models for Academic and Moral Excellence workshop, Continuous Assessment Training Project Workshop, Train the trainers facilitator’s workshop on people participatory approach to agriculture, sensitization workshop to women in Sokoto, Zamfara, and Kebbi State on cooperative development, National Workshop on cooperative matters and workshop on corruption risk assessment between 1999 to 2016.
For her contribution and leadership in meeting the yearning of her immediate community, she has bagged various Awards of recognition and excellence in and outside Kaduna State for her pioneering contributions to the Kaduna communities in particular and Nigeria in general.
Hajiya Dr. Aisha Ishaq has made a remarkable impact on the cultural, academic, and social well-being of the students and Staff of Federal Cooperative College, Kaduna. She has successfully raised the profile of the Institution and has worked hard to put systems in place to make things function more efficiently. She has proven herself to be an effective administrator, inspiring motivator, and intelligent leader. She gets a job done unobtrusively and efficiently, communicates well, and has creative ideas that she can see through to completion. She certainly has set a fine example of reliability, dependability, and commitment hence, she is being recognized, honored, and awarded for her many contributions and roles as an educator, administrator, advisor, philanthropist, and advocate for less privileged (girl child education).
