… To hold One Day Training Workshop for Cooperators and the General Public

In furtherance of the 101st International Cooperative Day and the 29th International Day of Cooperatives as proclaimed by the United Nations now celebrated globally by Cooperatives and Cooperators annually on the first Saturday of July.

The #CoopsDay aims to increase awareness of cooperatives and promote the values and principles that make the cooperative model suitable for advancing sustainable development. Also, to enhance the movement’s ideas of international solidarity, economic efficiency, equality, and world peace.

The Department of Cooperative Economics & Management, Faculty of Management Sciences in Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, in conjunction with the Institute of Cooperative Professionals of Nigeria (ICOPRON) presents the 2023 International Cooperative Day Symposium and its Maiden Alumni Home Coming.

The event has many dignitaries and the who is who in the Nigerian Cooperative Industry and will have the CEO of Ansar Technologies Ltd Alhaji Sani Friday Nnaji as the Distinguished Chairman of the Occasion, the Federal Director of Cooperatives (FDC) Engr. Abubakar Jibril ficp as the Keynote Speaker, and the President of CFN & ICA-Africa, High Chief. Tajudeen Oriyomi Ayeola as Guest Lecturer while the Special Guests of Honour at the event are Hon. Prof. Obiageli Orogbu, Member House of Representative,Abuja, the Registrar, Institute of Cooperative Professionals of Nigeria (ICOPRON) Dr. Dickson Okolo ficp, fica, and the Anambra State Director of Cooperatives, Mrs. Nwabugo Philomena Okonkwo.

The Event’s Training Workshop is a must-attend for every Cooperative professional, member, executives officers, ad-hoc committee, manager, the general public, aspiring Cooperative members, and all those who want to understand how good governance practices can enhance their performance as leaders, know the essential books and records in cooperative society as well as know how to do due diligence on loans and manage it. Also, they shall be discussing the imperatives for youth and women empowerment.

The date for the Training workshop is Tuesday 18th July 2023 by 09:00 AM prompt at the Faculty of Management Sciences Board Room, UniZik, Akwa, Anambra State.

We have several faculties who would be taking us on the topics highlighted above. – Associate Prof. Ichie Emma Okechukwu, fnim, ficp HOD Economics Dept. Legacy University, Okija, Anambra State is taking us on Enhancing Cooperative Performances through Good Governance Practice. – Associate Prof. IDO Chilokwu, ficp UniZik, Akwa Chairman, ICOPRON Anambra State Chapter is to take us on Essential Books and Records of a Cooperative Society. – Prof. Francis O. Nwankwo ficp UniZik, Awka is to take Agricultural Cooperative: Imperative for Youth and Women Empowerment. – Prof. Charles Onugu UniZik, Awka, will be taking us on Loan Assessment and Management.
