Alhaji Wasiu Olaleye Emerges National Treasurer of the Cooperative Federation of Nigeria (CFN)

In a move that reinforces financial integrity and strong leadership within Nigeria’s cooperative movement, Alhaji Wasiu Babatunde Olaleye has been elected as the new National Treasurer of the Cooperative Federation of Nigeria (CFN) — the apex body representing cooperative societies across the nation.

A respected entrepreneur and seasoned administrator, Alhaji Olaleye brings to the national cooperative leadership decades of business experience and proven excellence in corporate governance. He currently serves as the Managing Director of Fanol RDS Products Limited, a soap manufacturing company based in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Before he emerged as CFN Treasurer, Alhaji Olaleye held numerous high-level leadership positions within Nigeria’s Chambers of Commerce, including National Vice President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA); President of Odu’a Chambers of Commerce (ODUACCIMA); President of Ogun State Chamber of Commerce (OGUNCCIMA); and President of Abeokuta Chamber of Commerce (ABEOCCIMA). He was also the pioneer President of the Ogun State Business Advocacy Group (BAG) and now serves on its Board of Trustees.

An alumnus of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) and the City of London College, United Kingdom, Alhaji Olaleye has undertaken several international executive trainings in Leadership, Ethics, and Corporate Governance at the University of Pittsburgh, USA, and International Business Certification with the Warwick International Business Institute in collaboration with the Africa–USA International Business Network.

Beyond the business sector, Alhaji Olaleye is a prominent cooperative leader who currently serves as President of Ore Oluwa Ijaiye Abeokuta Cooperative Multipurpose Society Ltd, Teledalase Obantoko Cooperative Multipurpose Union Ltd, and the Ogun State Cooperative Federation Ltd (OGSCOFED).

His election as National Treasurer is widely seen as a step toward enhancing transparency, accountability, and fiscal discipline within CFN’s operations, aligning with the ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperative governance in Nigeria under the Renewed Hope Cooperative Reform and Revamp Programme (RH-CRRP).

Alhaji Olaleye is happily married and blessed with children.
