AGM: CIPM Members’ Cooperative Holds First Anniversary
Naija CooperativeNewsThe Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Members Cooperative Multipurpose Society held its first-anniversary meeting recently at the CIPM headquarters in Lagos.
It was an opportunity for members to interact and receive updates on the cooperative’s activities and developments from the executives led by Dr Funke Medun.
In her remarks, Dr Medun commended the executives for their dedication and commitment to the cooperative’s growth and praised the members for their support.
She noted that the CIPM MCMS has followed the path of transparency and accountability, providing members with monthly updates on their financial contributions.
She said, “The CIPM MCMS is registered with the Lagos State Ministry of Commerce, Cooperative, Trade and Investment and has operations guidelines. We have a functional web portal that provides up-to-date information to members.”
In his remarks at the event, the Immediate Past President of CIPM, Mr. Olusegun Mojeed, FCIPM, commended Dr. Funke Medun for her leadership of the cooperative. He expressed his delight over the evolution of the CIPM MCMS in one year and related it to the cooperative he founded in his previous work experience at one of the leading telcos.
He advised the cooperative to explore investment opportunities in ventures like real estate and tasked the executives with strengthening the governance and accountability framework.
“The CIPM MCMS is a legacy initiative that I am happy to hand over to the new President/Chairman of the Council and the executive council members of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management,” he added.
The event featured presentations on the cooperative’s financials and the state of its investments, while members gave testimonials on their experience joining the cooperative.
In an interview with WebTV, Dolapo Agbede, a visually impaired cooperative member, commended the executives for leading an inclusive group. She was delighted that she could seamlessly carry out her activities with the cooperative through technology and an interactive website.
