
Dr. Adebosin Walid Gbadebo Appointed Acting Provost of Lagos State Cooperative College (LASCOCO)

LAGOS – NIGERIA: The Lagos State Cooperative sector has recorded another milestone with the appointment of Dr. Adebosin Walid Gbadebo, FCIP, FME, FMNES, as the Acting Provost of Lagos State Cooperative College, Oko-Oba, Agege, Lagos, effective 1st June 2025.
Dr. Adebosin, a seasoned academic, administrator, and cooperative development expert, brings a wealth of experience to the College at a time when capacity building, professionalization, and cooperative education are taking center stage in Nigeria’s socio-economic transformation agenda.

Before this new appointment, Dr. Adebosin served as Dean, School of Vocational Education (2019–2021) and Head of Department, Business Education (2012–2019) at the then Michael Otedola College of Primary Education, Noforija-Epe, now Lagos State University of Education, Ijanikin. He is also a member of the Governing Council, representing the Academic Board.
An accomplished scholar, Dr. Adebosin has authored and co-authored over 55 academic journals, articles, book chapters, and contributions in learned publications. He has also secured and successfully completed two TETFund research grants, among several other funded research projects.
His professional affiliations are equally robust. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Cooperative Professionals of Nigeria (ICOPRON), Institute of Management Economists of Nigeria (MEN), and a member of leading professional associations such as the Nigerian Economic Society (NES) and the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN). He also serves as an external examiner at the Federal College of Education, Abeokuta (Economics Department) and Tai-Solarin College of Education, Omu-Ijebu (Business Education Department).
Academically, Dr. Adebosin holds a Ph.D. in Business and Applied Economics (Economics Option) from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, alongside a Master’s degree in Economics and Agricultural Economics from both Olabisi Onabanjo University and the University of Ibadan. His specialization in Development and Cooperative Economics aligns perfectly with the mandate of Lagos State Cooperative College to build human capital for a thriving cooperative sector.

Beyond his academic and professional commitments, Dr. Adebosin is passionate about teaching, research, football, and reading, a reflection of his balanced approach to life and leadership.
His appointment has been received warmly within the cooperative sector, with many stakeholders expressing optimism that his wealth of experience will further reposition the Lagos State Cooperative College as a hub for cooperative education, innovation, and professional excellence.
